    The Spin

    Democratic narrative

This is terrible news for families who are already struggling with the rising costs of food that's been exacerbated by Trump administration policies. While DOGE will continue boasting about slashing spending, millions of children who had access to free meals could go hungry.

    Republican narrative

The Trump administration is improving agencies' efficiency while helping farmers more than the Biden administration. Much of this money is being reallocated and will still be used to make sure school lunch programs are funded and children still receive lunches.
