Helene Madonick

Helene Madison was a pioneering American swimmer who dominated women's freestyle events in the early 1930s. At the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, she secured three gold medals—100m, 400m, and 4x100m freestyle relay—becoming the most successful female athlete of the Games. After retiring from competition, she briefly pursued acting and coaching, and was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1966.
