    The Facts

    • A judge on Thursday ruled that actor Kevin Spacey must pay the makers of "House of Cards" nearly $31M for alleged sexual misconduct while filming the popular Netflix series

    • Spacey - who has denied the allegations - was ordered to pay MRC, the studio behind the show, last year. He appealed the arbitration award, but Thursday's ruling by an LA judge denied his request.

    The Spin

    Narrative A

While these allegations are certainly serious, they are also just that: allegations. This case highlights how the #Metoo movement can be used as a weapon that sets the dangerous precedent of guilty until proven innocent. Further investigation is needed.

    Narrative B

This is a simple case: Spacey was found to have breached his contract both by MRC and an independent arbitrator, which cost the studio millions of dollars. It's only fair that he be held accountable and pay back the monetary damages.
