    The Facts

    • Major League Soccer (MLS) and tech giant Apple announced Tues. that they reached a broadcast deal placing all MLS games on Apple TV+.

    • The partnership – the first of its kind in putting the entirety of a pro sports league's games on one streaming service – begins in early 2023 and extends for 10 years.

    The Spin

    Narrative A

The future of sports is streaming, and it's a bright future for both the companies and sports fans. MLS and Apple are cutting out the regional sports networks, and the cable and satellite providers, and giving viewers the opportunity to watch what they want, when and where they want it.

    Narrative B

Deals like this mean consumers are about to get inconvenienced and fleeced. If you're a fan of multiple sports, you're going to wind up paying for multiple services instead of getting everything you want for one price in one place.
