    The Facts

    • On Tues, 3 federal judges overturned a ruling which stated that Australia's Environment Minister, Sussan Ley, had a duty to protect children from climate change.

    • In 2020, 8 teenagers pursued a court case against Ley, alleging that she failed at her duty to protect young people by approving the expansion of a coal mine.

    The Spin

    Left narrative

This ruling may have been about the legal parameters of liability, but it doesn't change the facts. Future generations of Australians will bear the brunt of catastrophic bushfires, extreme flooding, and mass bleaching of the Great Barrier Reef. This is just the beginning of an explosion of global litigation to try and save our planet.

    Right narrative

Ley's successful appeal is a victory. She's no-nonsense and demands evidence. In 2019, she visited the Great Barrier Reef and asked to be shown proof of it's "death"... she wasn't provided with any. Once again, Ley has emerged victorious from the PR stunts of climate alarmists.
