Ukraine on Fri. said shipments of grain are ready to be exported once the United Nations signs off. This comes after Russia and Ukraine signed a UN-brokered deal to resume shipments last week. Zelenskyy said the exports could commence again by Saturday.
Meanwhile, both Russia and Ukraine have launched criminal investigations into strikes that killed dozens of Ukrainian POWs held in a prison camp in Russian-occupied Donetsk.
Allegations that Russian forces have been committing war crimes against civilians and Ukrainian soldiers are numerous. The withdrawal of Russian troops from Bucha saw harrowing accounts emerge of civilian executions and torture. Murder and torture of POWS is just the latest evidence demanding investigation of the conduct of Russian forces.
There have been many brazenly false claims against both sides in this war, so allegations such as these need to be taken with a grain of salt until independently verified.
