    The Facts

    • Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has faced backlash after encouraging two students to remove their masks during a press conference at the University of South Florida on Wed.

    • Before the press conference launch, he told the students that they didn't need to wear their masks, remarking "We've gotta stop with this COVID theater".

    The Spin

    Left narrative

DeSantis will do anything -- including scold high school students -- to make a point about COVID. Cases may be falling, but there's clear evidence that masks work - contrary to DeSantis' misguided beliefs - and it's essential to continue using them until we are fully out of the pandemic.

    Right narrative

The left have cooked up a media storm for nothing and, as usual, are highly hypocritical; where were the masks during Biden's mediocre State-of-the-Union address? Children and students are the ultimate victims of COVID hysteria and senseless government-imposed restrictions. This must end.
