The Jan. 6 Committee has issued subpoenas to five sitting Republican lawmakers, including House Minority Leader McCarthy (R-CA), alleging that they have information relevant to its investigation of the events surrounding the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
The almost unprecedented move came after the GOP lawmakers refused an earlier request for voluntary cooperation with the panel's inquiry.
