Former US Sec. of State Dr. Henry Kissinger has sparked controversy by suggesting Ukraine should cede territory to Russia and seek negotiations.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland via video link on Mon., Kissinger - a staunch supporter of realpolitik - said: "Negotiations need to begin in the next two months before it creates upheavals and tensions that will not be easily overcome."
Henry Kissinger, who has a terrible record, was rightly criticized for these comments. Why should sovereign Ukraine cede territory and appease Putin's war of aggression?
"Blue-checks" on Twitter are furious because the typically venerated statesman, for all his war crimes and sins, said something sensible with respect to Ukraine. What's the alternative to this peace agreement? Perpetual war with Russia?
