The Facts
The latest, and sixth, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report published Mon. issued a stark "now or never" call to action. IPCC labeled countries that continue to increase production of fossil fuels as "dangerous radicals."
This is the first IPCC report focused on climate mitigation measures since the Paris Climate Agreement. The IPCC focused on solutions that would limit warming to 1.5C.

Narrative A
The current rate of global warming is on track to smash 3C above baseline in the coming decades, and parts of Earth won't be fit for human habitation. People can expect severe crop failures and rising seas that will wipe coastal cities from the map. Time's running out and CO2 emissions are still increasing.
Narrative B
The approach of this report is disingenuous. IPCC's consumer-driven strategy will result in a whirlwind of campaigns from governments and big brands trying to persuade to us to eat less meat, travel by public transportation, and reduce our energy consumption. There will be PR campaigns to "save the Earth," while big businesses pump out more CO2 to make chique sustainable products.
Narrative C
The IPCC report means a disproportionate impact for the globe's most vulnerable. We have to immediately scale up preparation for the millions who are about to be displaced. This is a human crisis making life harder for those already suffering.
