Shehbaz Sharif, a leading opposition figure and younger brother of former PM Nawaz Sharif, won Parliament's support on Mon. to become Pakistan's new PM. He will now form a government that can remain in place until elections are held in Aug. 2023.
This comes after Pakistan's political opposition removed former PM Imran Khan in a no-confidence vote on Sun. Khan is the nation's first PM to be removed by such a vote.
