    The Facts

    • On Fri., the FAA apologized for the miscommunication that caused a brief evacuation of the Capitol Wed. night, after a plane on its way to present a pregame parachuting show at Nationals Park was mistakenly identified as a threat.

    • The aircraft carried members of the US Army's aerial parachute demonstration team known as the Golden Knights. They were scheduled to perform at the Washington Nationals baseball game in honor of the armed forces.

    The Spin

    Narrative A

This is yet another clear indication of the Capitol Police's failure to do their job properly due to misplacement of resources. If they had put their focus where it belonged this pointless evacuation could've been avoided.

    Narrative B

The Capitol was rightly evacuated out of an abundance of caution. The blame clearly lies with the Federal Aviation Administration's failure to communicate properly with the Capitol Police.
