    The Facts

    • Pres. Biden, who intends to nominate the first Black woman to the Supreme Court by the end of February, has interviewed three top candidates to replace retiring Justice Stephen Breyer.

    • He has interviewed Ketanji Brown Jackson of the US Court of Appeals for DC, Leondra Kruger of the California Supreme Court, and Michelle Childs, a federal SC district court judge.

    The Spin

    Right narrative

Biden's narrow search is racist and clearly unconstitutional; he only vowed to appoint a Black female justice for political gain on the campaign trial. He should look for the best person to nominate rather than telling 94% of Americans they're ineligible for consideration.

    Left narrative

The GOP are the racists; they're attacking the nominee's qualifications without knowing her identity. They didn't have problems with the nomination process when only right-wing bigots were being considered.

    Nerd narrative

There's a 57% chance Ketanji Brown Jackson will be confirmed to SCOTUS before 2023 according to the Metaculus prediction community.
