Snyder, Goodell Requested to Testify to House Committee Investigating Workplace Abuse
The Facts
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder have been asked to appear before the House Committee on Oversight and Reform on June 22 as part of an investigation into the team's workplace environment.
The NFL and the Commanders both responded to the request with statements that didn't confirm whether either would appear at the hearing.

Democratic narrative
The NFL's investigation lacked transparency. Their failure to release a written report means the committee has no idea how the Commanders have addressed what looks to be widespread abuse in their workplace. The House committee exists for matters like this, to root out the abuse and set an example for workplaces everywhere.
Republican narrative
This committee is overreaching and is an abuse of power. The witnesses weren't credible and should've sought other means of venting their frustrations. Even if they were disgruntled with their workplace, they seemingly left happily.
Cynical narrative
Snyder has turned what was once one of the league's most valuable and respected franchises into a laughingstock. But it doesn't matter; regardless of how this investigation goes, Snyder is a member of an all-white rich-guy club that won't do anything meaningful to him lest they face his wrath in the form of litigation.
