Former Sec. of State Mike Pompeo claimed on Fri. that Dr. Mehmet Oz is a potential national security risk because of his ties to Turkey, calling on his campaign to explain why he has "time and energy to vote in a Turkish election, but not in an American election."
This comes after a picture of Oz voting in the 2018 Turkish presidential election surfaced, contradicting his previous claims that he has "never been politically involved in Turkey." An Oz campaign spokesperson confirmed he voted but stressed it was "far different from being actively engaged" in Turkish politics.
