    The Facts

    • The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) released a statement on Thursday saying that Iran increased its stockpile of 60% enriched uranium by 34.2 lbs (15.5 kg) since November.

    • Iran now reportedly has 73.2lbs (33.2 kg) of enriched uranium. It would need about 88 lbs (40kg) to produce enough weapons-grade nuclear fuel for a bomb.

    The Spin

    Republican narrative

Iran has been increasing its stockpile of uranium since Biden took office. The Islamic Republic is clearly stalling in its negotiations with the US, enjoying billions of dollars worth of oil exports due to the Biden administration's good will gesture of relaxed sanctions.

    Democratic narrative

Trump got us in this mess with a more dangerous Iran by unilaterally withdrawing from the nuclear deal in 2018. Now, Republicans are looking to tear up the new deal before it even exists.

    Establishment-critical narrative

Iran has the legal right to a peaceful nuclear program. Biden's lifting of some sanctions was welcome, but not enough. All sanctions must be removed and the US must not be able to unilaterally leave the deal again.
