    The Facts

    • Trump-endorsed candidates had mixed results in a series of GOP primaries in key states including Pennsylvania and North Carolina on Tuesday.

    • In all, 23 out of 27 candidates who received Trump's endorsement won their races, though the losing candidates were among the most high profile.

    The Spin

    Democratic narrative

The disgraced, twice-impeached former president has promised his fealty to those who help spread his "big lie" about the 2020 election. But Republican voters have demonstrated that even they have some standards when it comes to bad behavior by their political representatives. The primary results may indicate Trump's power over his base is waning.

    Republican narrative

Even if Trump didn't get a clean sweep in all of the races, he still has enormous power within the GOP. The former President will continue to project influence from Mar-a-Lago and Democrats should be very concerned.
