It’s no coincidence this request came from the DOJ before Archer’s imminent testimony. Pres. Biden has politicized the DOJ, as evidenced by the charges against former Pres. Trump as well as the dropping charges against Biden-donor Sam Bankman-Fried. The DOJ probably can’t sink any lower.

Republicans are floating conspiracy theories again. No one believes the DOJ’s request and Archer’s looming testimony are linked, not even Archer. Even if granted, the request wouldn’t have prevented Archer from testifying, and Republicans know that but — as always — strive to cast the president in a negative light.
