The West says it wants peace, yet continues to supplement and upgrade Ukraine's weaponry during an ongoing counteroffensive and assure Kyiv of NATO membership at the conclusion of the conflict. This provocative escalation is hypocrisy at its best.
Arming Ukraine is the only way to help the nation to, under Zelenskyy's leadership, liberate its occupied territories and free the country from an aggressor. If the West fails to protect Ukraine, it will reflect a fundamental failure to protect the principles of sovereignty and democracy.
The supply of western weaponry and multi-million-dollar military aid will not guarantee Ukraine a lasting victory. Whether it fails to inflict significant damage on Russian forces or whether it achieves a breakthrough, the counteroffensive is only going to destabilize the current balance on the ground. The impact of western intervention on the course of this conflict should not be overstated.
