Democratic narrative
This case is a battle between the rule of law and a former president who is arrogant enough to believe the laws don't apply to him. To make things worse — for the country and himself — he's simultaneously running for re-election on a platform that includes dismantling the US justice system. Although he is presumed innocent, the evidence in the indictment shows this is a man who must face consequences and never return to the Oval Office.
Republican narrative
This isn’t a legitimate enforcement of US law, it’s the weaponization and politicization of the Department of Justice by Pres. Biden and his Democratic allies to attack their top political opponent. There can’t be two tiers of justice – one for Trump, another for Biden – depending on who’s in power. Trump should be exonerated, or at least pardoned because of the illegitimacy of this case.
