Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Friday that he will join the TV channel GB News as a presenter, program maker, and commentator from the beginning of 2024.

Posting on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Johnson stated that he was "excited" to join GB News, stating he would share his "unvarnished views" on global affairs.

GB News revealed that Johnson was to "play a key role" in reporting on the next UK general election and US presidential election while also hosting a show focused upon the "power of Britain around the world."

The Advisory Committee on Business Appointments, having been approached by Johnson following GB News' offer, concluded that the former prime minister's new role doesn't "raise any particular concerns under the government's rules" while urging Johnson not to "offer unfair insight" through the platform.
