The Facts

  • Leading public health officials, including the World Health Organization's (WHO) interim director of epidemic and pandemic preparedness, told Reuters that many countries are seeing low vaccination rates against the latest versions of COVID and flu this winter, leading to potential strains on healthcare systems.

  • This comes as the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported on Friday that COVID hospitalizations rose for the ninth consecutive week, which may be partly due to the spread of the JN.1 variant that accounts for an estimated 61% of the cases as of Jan. 6.

The Spin

Pro-establishment narrative

While many people seem to think that the COVID pandemic is completely over, the fact is that many people are still being infected with the disease and straining the healthcare system. Unfortunately, there are people who spread propaganda about vaccines and push people to refuse necessary preventative treatments. COVID and flu shots save thousands of lives and prevent people from overcrowding hospitals.

Establishment-critical narrative

For the last four years, big pharmaceutical companies and corrupt organizations like the WHO have forced experimental shots on the world population with oppressive mandates. These nefarious actors believe they are entitled to dictate what goes into people’s bodies, forcing propaganda on the population. Yet, millions have woken up to this game and are now refusing to play along.

Nerd narrative

There's a 50% chance that at least 24.2% of US adults will report having received an updated COVID booster vaccine for the 2023-2024 season by March 30, 2024, according to the Metaculus prediction community.
