Version 6.18.1
The BBC findings are deeply troubling, which is why the government clearly regrets that the full extent of Epstein's U.K. activity was not previously known. If evidence was missed, it must now be reviewed thoroughly. Britain never would've intended to overlook victims, and a renewed investigation by the Met is essential to uphold justice, accountability and public trust in the rule of law.
Calls to "reinvestigate" ring hollow after decades of royal privilege and state secrecy blocked scrutiny in the first place. The Prince Andrew–Epstein saga, in particular, shows a pattern of obfuscation, settlements without accountability and institutions closing ranks. Without confronting elite immunity, any inquiry risks becoming damage control, not justice for victims.
