Ben & Jerry's has pushed far beyond reasonable corporate activism into divisive leftist territory that puts employees and shareholders at risk. The brand's extreme positions on complex geopolitical issues, including Israel-Palestine, and its constant partisan attacks create unnecessary controversy for a consumer product company. Unilever rightfully stepped in to prevent further damage.
Corporate censorship has destroyed the soul of Ben & Jerry's, turning a values-driven brand into just another profit machine. Unilever promised independence but systematically dismantled that freedom, silencing criticism of harmful policies and firing executives who supported the brand's social mission. When a company can't stand up for justice and human rights during critical moments, it loses its reason for existing.
