    The Spin

    Pro-government narrative

Farage's demand is hypocritical since he previously called for abolishing the Lords entirely and now wants to pack it with his allies. Parliament doesn't need more Putin apologists when Reform's voice has been conspicuously absent from crucial debates on Ukraine and Russia. Starmer should wait to see if Reform proves itself as a credible, established party over the coming years.

    Opposition narrative

Reform UK deserves representation in the House of Lords after winning over 4 million votes and leading national polls for months. The current system creates an unfair democratic disparity where smaller parties with fewer votes get peers while Reform gets none. This goes against basic democratic principles when a party that won the only by-election of this parliament has zero voice in the upper chamber.
