Qantas confirms cyber-attack exposed records of up to 6 million customers
Guardian1 day
In response to the cyberattack on Monday, Qantas is taking every action to contain the damage and assess the situation. While personal details were compromised, luckily, this does not extend to financial information or passports. In line with the airline’s commitment to its customers, Qantas will contact those affected and provide them with the required support.
In light of the recent cyberattacks on Qantas and several of Australia’s largest retirement funds, the government must act swiftly. Rather than dismiss Monday’s cyber breach as routine, something Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has done previously, the authorities must pressure company executives and directors to do more to protect their customers and their data.
