The U.K. joining the US in its military campaign is in line with Britain's long-standing strategy after the Houthis began their campaign of aggression in late 2023. London's action is a bold step in defense of freedom of navigation after the Houthis' indiscriminate attacks in the Red Sea not only killed innocent sailors but also severely disrupted international shipping, caused billions in economic damage, and jeopardized regional stability.
That the U.K. is now also bombing one of the poorest countries in the world is no surprise, as London was already deeply involved in the dirty and heinous Yemen war alongside the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. The U.K.'s further escalation of the conflict in tandem with the Trump administration only underlines the fact that London is one of Washington's most loyal and ruthless vassals. Yemen will continue to fight for Palestinian freedom until victory.
