The Spin

Anti-Trump narrative

The decision by America's most loyal ally to cut intelligence only reaffirms the damage of Trump's illegal military attacks. Even Britain no longer trusts the U.S. to uphold liberal democratic values of justice and the rule of law. Trump must end this senseless policy immediately if America wishes to retain its standing as leader of the free world.

Pro-Trump narrative

The U.K. is foolish to chose drug cartels over American lives by halting vital intelligence. This self-damaging decision weakens both nations' security when cooperation against narcotics trafficking remains essential. Canada has found a reasonable middle ground — Britain must either do the same or find itself out of favor in Washington.
