The Spin

Democratic narrative

Trump's deportations violate fundamental human rights and America's obligations under domestic and international law, as people are being kicked out of the country without fair hearings, access to legal counsel, transparency or safety guarantees. That deportees are being sent to third countries or nations where they may face serious harm only aggravates the matter.

Republican narrative

If the Trump administration allows illegal aliens to exploit endless appeals and legal loopholes, then deportation would be rendered impossible. Take the case of likely MS-13 gang member Kilmar García. Were every deportee to face individual trials like him, the justice system would collapse — and disorder would follow — as millions have unlawfully crossed into the U.S. under Joe Biden.
