Growing evidence suggests Kurdish forces along the Iraq-Iran border could support potential ground operations in Iran, especially after Israeli strikes exposed Iranian vulnerabilities. Trump's openness to backing armed groups inside Iran and ongoing outreach to Kurdish leaders signals a strategic shift. Iranian authorities' recent attacks on Kurdish cities reveal Tehran's fear of this emerging threat, indicating that the U.S. and Israel should push for further ground maneuvers.
The CIA's arming of Kurdish forces represents a cynical ploy to fragment Iran and seize its oil wealth, mirroring the Syrian playbook where Kurds suffered massive casualties while America extracted $110 billion in resources. This manufactured chaos aims to transform Iran into a rump state stripped of sovereignty. Kurdish fighters will bear the bloodshed while foreign powers profit from destabilization. Furthermore, Kurds are a fundamental component of Iran's social fabric, and these attempts seek to subvert Iranian society.
The reporting on this "alleged" Kurdish uprising has been completely ridiculous. Anti-government Kurdish forces have been in Iran for some time, and reports of "thousands" of Kurdish fighters crossing into Iran are simply wrong. The media must stop pushing narratives that have no basis in reality.
After the U.S. betrayed the Kurds of Syria earlier this year, why should Kurds in Iran or Iraq sacrifice themselves for U.S. interests? The U.S. has betrayed Kurdish forces fighting for their rights countless times in recent decades, and there's nothing to indicate that this time would be different. These reports of a "Kurdish uprising" are essentially black mail to pressure Kurdish groups into joining a war that is rapidly spiraling out of control, especially considering the hostility toward Kurdish autonomy professed by Pahlavi and his ilk.
