This is exactly the kind of structured, internationally backed progress eastern Congo desperately needs.

Roadmaps and ceasefire missions mean little when accountability remains selectively applied — sanctioning M23 commanders while ignoring state actors who arm and coordinate with groups like the FDLR lets the real engines of conflict run free. Lasting peace demands the same scrutiny for everyone enabling violence, whether rebel or government-uniformed. Without consistent standards, these diplomatic milestones are just political theater.
