Rigging the price of something as everyday as a beer while families already struggle with inflation is about as cynical as business gets. Competition must reward better products and sharper pricing, not backroom handshakes that guarantee fat margins for an industry that already dominates the market. Given these transgressions, tough enforcement is warranted.
A raid is a suspicion, not a verdict, and treating an unproven allegation as a conviction turns due process into a formality. The firms involved in this case will fully cooperate with the investigators, as responsibility demands. For that, they deserve a fair hearing, not the court of public opinion, as loose talk is speculation until the facts are established.
