Masked Israeli Settlers Attack EU Diplomats in West Bank

The Facts
- Masked Israeli settlers reportedly attacked European diplomats, including Belgium's consul general, French and Polish diplomats and Catholic representatives, visiting the West Bank village of Taybeh on Saturday.
- Videos posted online show Bernard Baudoux, mayor of the French town of Aulnoye-Aymeries, on the ground next to a vehicle with a smashed window. Army Radio reported that about seven masked settlers arrived on all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and demanded identification documents.
- Israel's military condemned the "severe act of violence" but said the "visit was not coordinated" with it and that no soldiers were at the scene. Police have opened an investigation and are collecting evidence and testimony.
