Independent courts weighing each bail decision on the evidence, rather than bending to public outrage or police pressure, are part and parcel of living in a fair country. Nevertheless, the government takes explicit deepfakes incredibly seriously, which is why it has already introduced tougher statutes and platform accountability to protect victims.
Government-critical narrative
Letting a man who already admitted to targeting kids walk back to the very window he spied from shows a justice system that puts offender convenience above child safety. When bail rules get loosened to ease prison crowding, families end up fleeing their own homes while the offender stays put. It is high time priorities change and put victims front and center.
