Is Huang's dismissal of AI extinction risk a conflict of interest or is doom talk just a rival's marketing strategy?

Fearmongering about AI doom is a marketing strategy which hands money and power to whoever screams loudest. Safety is an engineering problem: build carefully, don't ship what isn't ready and pause if a product looks unsafe. Pausing the tools that are reindustrializing America and beginning a new economic revolution is not the path to a more propserous society.
Industry-critical narrative
It is no surprise that Huang brushes off extinction risk whilst his net worth balloons to nearly $200 billions, despite the fact that models have already slipped containment, hacked third parties and openly discussed subverting human civilization. Huang is clearly one of the world's leading tech minds, but his input in the AI race is nothing more than a conflict of interest.
