Report: Israel Allegedly Blocks Gaza Base for Trump's Peace Force

- Israel is allegedly preventing contractors and construction vehicles from entering Gaza to build a military base for international troops under U.S. President Donald Trump's Board of Peace, The Guardian reported Wednesday. "Israel won't open the border," a source said.
- The Board of Peace, authorized by the U.N. in 2025 and chaired by Trump, awarded its first Gaza construction contract in early August to Arkel International, a Louisiana-based firm, to build a fortified outpost for 150 troops.
- The planned outpost would measure about 100 by 100 meters (328 x 328 feet) on a site once used by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), hosting rotating deployments of 150 armed troops drawn from a contingent of about 500 personnel sent from Morocco and Kosovo.

Rolling foreign troops into Gaza while Hamas still has its weapons would hand a terror regime an international shield. Disarmament and a genuine technocratic government first is the only sequence that makes any peace force worth deploying. Rushing boots onto the ground for the sake of a timeline will only undermine the goal of lasting security and stability.

It is of no surprise that Israel is refusing to allow reconstruction to begin or for the ISF to deploy to Gaza. From day one, it has been clear that Israel's ultimate goal is to make Gaza uninhabitable and destroy Palestinian society in the strip.
