Rutte Claims 'No Imminent Threat' to NATO After Russia Warning

- NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte stated on Wednesday during a summit in Brussels, Belgium, that there is "no imminent threat" to alliance territory from Russia, while also claiming that, "If anything happens, we are ready to counter it."
- Earlier this week, Moscow sent a diplomatic document to NATO states warning it was ready to use its entire arsenal, including nuclear weapons, if the alliance attempted an air and naval blockade of Kaliningrad, the exclave between Poland and Lithuania.
- Rutte said he did not take the nuclear warnings seriously because, in his view, Russia could not prevail against the alliance. "NATO is so much stronger than Russia is, so there's no way they can ever beat us," he stated.

Nuclear saber-rattling is a bluff from a weakened military that stripped the exclave bare and got chewed up in Ukraine.
