Version 7.17.1
Sudan's agony keeps getting shrugged off because the victims are African, and that selective compassion is a moral disgrace. The U.N. is a toothless spectator, issuing resolutions while the killing continues. Sanctioning RSF middlemen while shielding Gulf patrons funding the slaughter is theater, not policy — real leverage over arms sales and gold money exists and goes unused.
An unconditional ceasefire with independent monitoring is the only serious path forward, and demanding it constitutes far more than empty words. Extending the U.N. fact-finding mission preserves the evidence needed for real accountability, so refusing investigators visas or dismissing the resolution only protects perpetrators. Rushed deals that leave a powerful paramilitary force intact risk locking in partition rather than lasting peace.
