Explosions at weapons depots in Syria have become common as the country works to clear the vast stockpiles of weapons left behind after more than a decade of civil war. This has been a long process of recovery from a horrific armed conflict.
Government-critical narrative
There have now been three major explosions at weapons depots in the space of a month. Clearly, there are failures in how weapons are being managed and stored, and the government must take swift action to keep Syrians safe.
Establishment-critical narrative
These explosions are clearly the product of Israeli clandestine operations. Given Israel's open hostility toward Syria and its new government, it's shocking that the media are pretending that these "blasts" are accidental.
