Uganda Suspends Military Cooperation With Turkey

Turkey is sheltering a man facing 15 criminal charges in Uganda, yet acts shocked when Kampala pulls the plug on defense cooperation. Sovereignty and reciprocity have to mean something; a partner benefiting from Ugandan trade, contracts and strategic goodwill cannot harbor a fugitive accused of inciting violence while expecting military ties to continue untouched. Suspending defense cooperation is the only language Ankara understands.
Government-critical narrative
Blowing up a decade of defense ties over one blogger is deeply reckless, and the demands attached to it suggest this is about personal ego rather than statecraft. Ugandan traders, students and a $3 billion railway project are the ones left paying the price for these since deleted social media tantrums. Real grievances get settled through diplomatic channels, not threats and public ultimatums.
