No one has given Iran more opportunities to negotiate than Trump. But its leaders tragically continue to spurn those opportunities so the U.S. will impose the most crushing economic operation on Iran so it sees that it has no choice but to give up its ambitions of nuclear weapons and come to an agreement.

Trump's latest threat of economic sanctions shows just how much the U.S. is running out of options. Trump has already sanctioned every part of Iran's economy and now that military options have failed, he is seeking to bring in third countries into the equation. But these measures will simply impose further costs on the U.S. and drive countries away from their currency. If anyone is backed into a corner, it's the Washington.
