Oriana Skylar Mastro is an American political scientist and author, currently serving as a Center Fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies and an assistant professor of Political Science at Stanford University. She is also a non-resident senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and a strategic planner at the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, focusing on Asia-Pacific security issues. Mastro holds a PhD in politics from Princeton University and has published extensively on U.S.-China relations, including her upcoming book Upstart: How China Became A Great Power (2024).
