Russell Vought is a conservative political strategist who currently serves as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget—having previously held that role from 2019 to 2021—and was reconfirmed in February 2025 under President Trump. A self-described Christian nationalist and prominent architect of the Heritage Foundation’s “Project 2025,” Vought is known for advocating aggressive budget cuts, executive power expansion, and cultural conservative policies within the federal government.
