Arthur Clarke

Arthur Clarke was a British science fiction writer, futurist, and inventor, primarily known for his novel "2001: A Space Odyssey." He also co-wrote the screenplay for the 1968 film adaptation. A lifelong advocate of space travel, Clarke chaired the British Interplanetary Society from 1946 to 1947 and again from 1951–1953. He died in Sri Lanka at the age of 90, due to complications arising from post-polio syndrome.
