Michael Gapen

Michael Gapen is the Chief U.S. Economist at Morgan Stanley, a position he assumed in late 2024 after departing from Bank of America. In his current role, he leads the firm's economic analysis of the U.S. economy, focusing on areas such as monetary policy, financial markets, and consumer behavior. Prior to his tenure at Bank of America, Gapen held senior positions at Barclays, including Head of U.S. Economics Research and Asset Allocation Strategist.
