A. Douglas Melamed is an American antitrust lawyer and academic who served as Acting Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice under President Clinton from 1998 to 2001. He is currently a Professor of the Practice of Law at Stanford Law School and is widely known for the influential 'Calabresi and Melamed' framework in property and liability rules.
