Oklahoma passes near-total ban on abortion, to be enforced through civil litigation

On Wed., Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt signed HB 4327, banning all abortions from the moment of fertilization unless necessary to save the mother's life or if the pregnancy is a result of rape or incest, as long as the crime was reported.
This comes as Oklahoma's Gov. Kevin Stitt signed SB 1503 earlier this month to ban all abortions after a heartbeat is detected, which can be as early as six weeks.
This is a dark moment in Oklahoma's history. These bills infringe on women's rights and will have a ripple effect across the region. It's appalling that Oklahoma politicians would witness the devastation caused by Texas' draconian abortion ban and then decide to implement even harsher restrictions.
