Western Powers Concerned About Iran's Uranium Production
The Facts
In a joint statement released on Thursday, the US, UK, Germany, and France voiced concerns over Iran’s production of weapons-grade uranium after the United Nations atomic watchdog reported Tuesday that Tehran has accelerated its uranium processing.
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran has reversed its “previous output reduction from mid-2023,” increasing its production of 60% enriched uranium to a rate of roughly 9kg (20 lbs) per month since the end of November.
