The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

Considering Bolton's past careless handling of classified materials and his disrespect of the law and requests from the executive branch when he published his memoir without final government approval, it shouldn't be a surprise that the FBI has undergone this operation. The DOJ has a duty to pursue this case, which Trump had no prior knowledge of.

Anti-Trump narrative

Bolton has been a vocal Trump critic, and this investigation was previously closed by the Biden administration. It's well known that Bolton is on a lengthy list of perceived enemies kept by Patel, and Trump has often spoken publicly about prosecuting those who've opposed him and his actions. This sure smells like the weaponization of law enforcement.
