Reality is finally breaking through and the GOP coalition that's in favor of keeping the government closed is fracturing. Greene's panic has confirmed what Democrats have been warning — the GOP's reckless policies will bankrupt families. Republicans can avoid further blame for the shutdown by negotiating an extension of the subsidies.

Unfortunately, Greene is misinformed about the issue at hand. Several Republicans have plans to address the expiring subsidies but Democrats must first drop their demands that illegal immigrants be able to access taxpayer dollars for healthcare and then vote to reopen the government. Then there can be debate on that matter.
